Bob Major
Manager, Kelowna and Kamloops

Mr. Major comes to us with a wealth of experience in both the restoration and construction industries.

Bob started in the industry in 1971 with one of the largest restoration franchises in the country, ServiceMaster of Canada. He quickly became a lead production manager in the Ottawa area for fire and flood related losses. Within the first two years he grew his branch to a crew of 22 men with 8 emergency restoration/construction vehicles. By 1974, Bob was appointed by ServiceMaster to the position of lead training instructor for all of Canada. He also was given the position of sales with regard to new franchises and he was in charge of opening and setting up any and all new branches.

In 1975, Bob opened up a ServiceMaster construction division in Ottawa. In its first year of operation, Bob guided the fledgling location to an almost $8,000,000.00 volume.

In 1982, Bob went to work for Eastern Building Consultants of Ottawa as their large loss estimator and construction supervisor. Most projects with this firm were in the $150,000.00 to $500,000.00 range, however, during his tenure with this company he also oversaw the reconstruction of the Cornwall Shopping Centre in Cornwall, Ontario, a $35,000,000.00 project that was completed not only within budget but also ahead of schedule.

In 1990, Bob decided it was time to venture out west to Alberta, specifically Edmonton, where he worked for S&K Restorations again as an estimator and construction supervisor in the insurance claims industry. Throughout the next seven years Bob maintained an annual claims file load of $5 – $6,000,000.00, which is a significant work load in this field for one person.

In 1994, Bob relocated to Mission, B.C. where he became an estimator / supervisor with Summit Restorations. In 1997 Bob moved to the Kelowna area. He immediately went to work as the General Manager for Kal-Tech Restorations, a significantly smaller company (annual volume - $500,000.00) than what Bob was used to but with much larger aspirations.

Within the next 18 months, Bob expanded this single branch “Mom and Pop operation” into one of the top three restoration contractors in the Okanagan Valley with an annual volume of over $3,000,000.00.

Bob left Kal-Tech in 2003 to take some much deserved time off but returned to the insurance restoration and construction industry as a consultant. We are very proud to have Bob on our team in the Okanagan and B.C. interior. Now, with his assistance, we are in the position to attain my original goal to become a large loss contractor in the insurance and construction industry.
